I did this painting because we need to use the right terminology if we want the public to understand epilepsy instead of believing all the myths. 



The actual cause of someone having seizures is a physical issue in the brain like scar tissue from brain damage, genetic defects, tumors, and others. Triggers are something that happens in the environment around you that sets you seizure off like pulling the trigger of a gun makes it fire only if it has a bullet in it. 



Triggers can include stress, flashing lights, lack of sleep, getting overheated or dehydrated, sounds and many other things we all have different trigger combinations. If flashing lights caused people to have seizures, then everyone at concerts including the musicians would be having seizures.
