After I completed this painting the ILAG International League Against Epilepsy decided to replace the word Partial with Focal changing the name of these seizures to Focal Aware seizures.



During a Simple Partial seizure, the person remains completely aware of what is happening and will have symptoms depending on where the seizures come from in their brain. Some of the most common symptoms are Déjà vu, the feeling of their stomach dropping like going down on a roller coaster, phantom smells taste of visions, twitching, tingling or numbness.
